Frequently Asked Questions

Do you allow on-farm slaughter?

No. We do not allow any on-farm slaughter. All cattle are processed at USDA-inspected facilities, and we follow all USDA regulations.

Do you sell live animals?

Yes — we occasionally have live animals for sale for those wanting to start their own herds.

Can I request specialty cuts like skin, feet, or beef cheeks?

No. Our USDA processors cannot return certain specialty cuts, including skin, feet, tallow and beef cheeks.

What beef share sizes do you offer?

We offer quarter, half, and whole beef shares twice per year. Individual retail cuts are not available at this time. Shares are offered first, and any remaining unsold beef may be made available as individual cuts.

Do you sell goat, lamb, or chicken?

Not at this time. We currently only sell beef.

How much beef will I take home in a beef share?

Approximate take-home amounts are:

  • Quarter: ~80 lbs

  • Half: ~120–140 lbs

Customers typically take home about 60% of the hanging weight after aging and processing.

What is the hanging weight?

Hanging weight (also called carcass weight) is the weight of the animal after slaughter, once the hide, head, feet, organs, and blood are removed, but before meat is trimmed, dry-aged, or cut into retail portions.

This is the industry standard for pricing bulk beef.

What cuts are included?

Every share includes a variety of premium cuts:

  • New York Strips & Filets

  • Delmonico (Boneless Ribeye) Steaks

  • Specialty steaks (Flank, Denver, Chuck Eye)

  • Brisket

  • 3–4 lb roasts (Chuck, Sirloin, London Broil)

  • Short Ribs

  • 1-lb packs of stew meat

  • 1-lb packs of ground beef

  • Soup bones

What are your prices?

Pricing is based per pound on the hanging weight.

Typical final totals:

  • Quarter: $1000–$1,200

  • Half: $2,000–$2,250

Pricing includes transport to the butcher, butchering, vacuum-packing, and refrigerated transport back to our farm.

Can I split a quarter?

We do not recommend splitting a quarter share between two families, since the cuts are not easily divided evenly.

Quarters are packaged as a complete assortment meant for one household.

What deposits are required?

  • Quarter: $200

  • Half: $400 (or two quarters)
Your deposit is applied directly to your final total.

Can I take photos on the farm?

Yes, but by appointment only. This helps us maintain animal safety, biosecurity, and smooth daily operations.  It is $185/hr.
